Recent Challenges for the Adhesives Industry
Challenges for the Adhesives Industry
Raw Materials Shortages
PVA, EVA and Crosslinking Polymers
Raw material shortages stemming from the hard freeze in Southern Texas a few months ago continue to plague adhesive companies across the country.
Hardest hit are the raw materials needed to produce PVA, EVA and Crosslinking polymers. Supply appears to be easing slightly but it will likely be another month before the supply pipeline is completely replenished.
Unprecedented Cost Increases
Additionally, unprecedented cost increases for shipping, packaging and raw materials will likely result in an industry wide price increase (or multiple increases).
